Vaughan Woods & Historic Homestead marks the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution with an Author Talk and House Tour
Two hundred and fifty years ago, In April of 1775, the American Revolution began in earnest with the Battles of Concord and Lexington.
Please join Vaughan Woods & Historic Homestead to mark this anniversary by welcoming nationally bestselling author Andrew Lawler to speak about his new book “A Perfect Frenzy: A Royal Governor, His Black Allies, and the Crisis That Spurred the American Revolution.” Bringing to light the largely untold story of rebellion in Virginia, this book will forever change our understanding of the American Revolution.
Vaughan Homestead will be open beginning at 2:00 for informal touring and will remain open for another hour following Mr. Lawler’s talk. Visitors may enjoy refreshments in the dining room and interact with interpreters as they wander through a special self-guided exhibit, “Dissenters, The American Revolution & The Settlement of Vaughan Homestead,” that explores the Hallowell-Vaughan family’s connection to the American Revolution.
