August 12: House & Garden Tour

Step inside a remarkably preserved family home dating to 1794, where seven generations of Vaughans lived and shaped the property over more than two centuries. Led by an interpreter, the tour explores the evolving architecture, furnishings, and personal stories that bring the house to life, while also placing the family within broader historical contexts—from the American Revolution to connections with global trade and labor. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the surrounding gardens and grounds, which complement the experience and highlight the site’s mission of connecting people to place through history, nature, and the arts. The tour can take between one to two hours depending on the interest of the group. If children will be attending with you, please let us know their ages so we can prepare.
